There was something for all ages and the kids in attendance had lots to hold their interest. Of special note was the nearly four hours of live music and dance entertainment. Earl's Recently Re-Opened after Hurricane Irene

Earl Holland talks with a gentlemen's soft spoken manner, he's a damn good barber, a nationally ranked pool shooter and he's no quitter. Irene struck Rahway on August 28th, 2011 and Earl's shop and building got clobbered by flood water. Like much of downtown Rahway, Earl's property is located close to the Rahway River and after the storm tide came in that day, three feet of water covered the first floor of his Irving Street building. Earl refused to throw in the towel and quit and instead he faced his troubles and began to clean up and rebuild. Earl's Cuts and Curls is located at 1673 Irving Street, in the Downtown Arts District in Rahway, and Earl can be contacted at telephone 732-381-0022.

Fashion Show and Prom Dress Giveaway

Recently students from the Young Women's Leadership program at Rahway High School held its annual Fashion Show and Prom Dress Giveaway. During the event, which took place under the direction and leadership of English teacher Annette Goodman and French teacher Robert Kinch, several donated dresses and formal gowns were given away to interested students in attendance. The event raised more than $700, most of which will benefit Helping and Healing Women, a local non-profit organization.
